Sonic CD, considered as one of the best Classic Sonic game in the history of the Blue Hedgehog. After a long time of waiting and fan requests SEGA finally brought back the game for modern gamers to enjoy, but made from scratch - With an engine made by a fan.

Christian "The Taxman" Whitehead was given the task of make a remake of Sonic CD for Mobile Devices and Consoles by SEGA using an engine that he created. After a few months he succeeded in doing of what would be the perfect Sonic for some fans.

Sonic CD (2011) came with everything: Widescreen support, online features (such as leaderboards), filters to change the way the game is displayed, Sonic the Hedgehog 2-styled spindash optionand USA and JAP soundtracks featuring different types of music for all the Zones - sans the Past version that is always the same. Also, the yellow fox Miles "Tails" Prower from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is also an unlockable character after you beat the game once with Sonic.

From the Green Hill-like Palmtree Panic Zone to the Stardust Speedway, each level from the game is filled with great graphics and music, and if you don't like the music from a certain part you can always go back to the main menu and change it to the other soundtrack - Now, if you don't like any of the soundtracks then you can use the Music Playback from the 360 Menu to play any music you like.

The entire game can be completed in one go, it will take 30 minutes for expert gamers or one hour for casual gamers. Sure, it's short, but it has a lot of replay value - Be it going to the past to destroy the Robot Generators or collecting the Time Stones in the Special Stages.

Speaking of which, some of the Special Stages are insanely annoying. Be warned if you're going to get all the Time Stones, you can quit the menu before you get out of time and try it again from the Save Menu.

About of difficulty, the game is really easy for both Casual and Expert gamers - That is, until you reach Metallic Madness, that zone is full of cheap deaths if you've never played it before.

The Final Boss is a disappointment, it's too easy to be a final boss, but what can you do? I'd rather have an easy boss than a insanely hard and cheap boss.

In closing, I will say that for 400 MS Points it's a bloody steal. The game has very much content that should merit at least a higher price, but SEGA was kind enough to make it real cheap and affordable. If you have spare five bucks, then you should use it in this game.

Sonic CD is a great game, that most classic gamers will enjoy and love. Good job SEGA, and congratulations to Christian Whitehead for doing this amazing game.
